Leadership role to drive improved government procurement capability
Use your exceptional skills to lead multiple agencies through leadership and influence
Secondment/Fixed term (one year) opportunity based in Wellington
This parental leave cover position provides the opportunity to be actively involved in setting future standards and expectations for quality procurement and property commercial activity across all NZ Government agencies.

Reporting to the Director Capability Services NZGPP, this team leadership role is tasked with improving and lifting commercial property and procurement skills across all government agencies. The successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Capability Team and will work closely with other Capability Services managers and leaders across government to deliver the lift in capability we wish to achieve.
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have
Strong leadership skills with the ability to use different interpersonal styles and communication techniques, expectations management, and targeted influencing of senior leaders to gain co-operation, support, affect change, and inspire others
Strong influencing skills
The ability to implement procurement and property capability strategies and objectives at a whole of government level
A strong customer focus
Highly-developed applied management skills to deliver capability development outcomes
A good understanding of how commercial issues impact agency outcomes and how procurement practice impacts these
