Job role
As an Engineering Officer - Field you will be the technical interface between our customers and the Council's water and waste water activities. You will have the necessary skills to liaise with our customers to provide advice and communicate effectively. The wider team looks after a broad range of services with regards to three waters and each field officer may have varying responsibilities, however, the core of the role is the same which means there are plenty of knowledgeable peers to brainstorm with and draw experiences from. Being practically minded and logical in your thought process means you'll enjoy the times when you are on site, as well as getting your hands dirty.
To be successful for this role you will have a tertiary level NZCE qualification in a relevant science (Chemistry or Environmental) or alternatively a trade qualification in plumbing or water supply. With extensive experience in a relevant water related area, you will be the type of person who can apply your technical knowledge in a confident and meaningful way using your strong customer service ethic and good communication skills.
