ESPMEL is a Portuguese registered trademark, which started its activity in 2017, producing high quality and reliable rosemary, strawberry tree and multifloral honey. However, for several decades, the manufacture of honey, for own consumption, has been a traditional activity in the family, which allows mastering ancestral techniques that enable better production. The facilities of our company are located in the village of São Barnabé, with apiaries spread over several points in the parish of São Barnabé, an area rich in flora, namely rosemary, strawberry tree, flower of fruit trees, heather, wild flowers, as well as in surrounding parishes, in the Alentejo and Algarve, which, together with the bee species and the climatic conditions, allows the manufacture of honey rich in mineral salts, with high nutritional properties.
