The School of Medical Devices and Food was established in 2003 , and its medical device discipline has a history of more than 60 years. The college has a professional faculty of more than 120 people, with 23 full-time teachers and 39 associate-high teachers. The college has a post-doctoral research mobile station of "Biomedical Engineering"; it has two first-level doctoral programs of "Biomedical Engineering" and "Food Science and Engineering" , under which there are " Biomedical Chemistry and Sensing " , " Food Science " , " Cereals, oils and vegetable protein Engineering " , " agricultural Products processing and storage Engineering " , " aquatic Products processing and storage " and other 5 second-level doctoral disciplines; have " Biomedical Engineering " , " food Science and Engineering " 2 Ge Master's degree in first-level disciplines and master's degree in two disciplines. There are more than 2,600 students in the school , including nearly 1,600 undergraduates , more than 950 master students , and nearly 100 doctoral students ; there are more than 20 post-doctoral students. In 2004 , " Medical Device Engineering " was listed as a key discipline in Shanghai; at the same time, it was awarded a high-level characteristic construction project for universities in Shanghai. The subject of " Biomedical Engineering " was approved as Shanghai First-Class Subject ( B ) in 2012 , Shanghai Plateau Subject in 2015 , and Shanghai High-Level First-Class Subject in 2018 . For more than ten years, with the continuous support of Shanghai’s key disciplines, first-class disciplines, plateau disciplines, etc., the college has formed minimally invasive medical devices, cryogenic biomedicine and food freezing and refrigeration, biomedical information, rehabilitation equipment, food rapid testing, food The main research directions of nutrition and safety, food biotechnology and precision health, etc., have the necessary facilities to carry out the frontiers of international disciplines and serve the major needs of the country. In the past five years, the college has undertaken more than 100 important national scientific research projects, with more than 90 million approved funds , 2 provincial and ministerial first prizes , 6 second prizes , and more than 50 million patent conversions . The college has "Biomedical Engineering" (including medical electronic equipment, precision medical equipment, medical equipment quality and safety direction), "Medical Imaging Technology", "Medical Information Engineering", "Rehabilitation Engineering", "Pharmaceutical Engineering", "Food Science" There are 7 undergraduate majors in Engineering and Engineering, Food Quality and Safety . "Biomedical Engineering" was approved as the first batch of first-class undergraduate majors at the national level in 2019 . The college has complete experimental facilities and advanced equipment. It has more than 50 laboratories in biomedical engineering, chemical and pharmaceutical and food science and engineering , covering an area of 9,000 square meters and fixed assets of 120 million yuan. In 2018 , it was approved as " Shanghai Medical Device Engineering Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center " . The college has trained more than 6000 graduates , with alumni distributed all over the world, serving manufacturing, medical and health, food, information, education and other industries, working in governments, hospitals, enterprises, schools and various social organizations, etc., and are well received by employers.
